ABOUT PEARLS

Pearls, the "Queen of Gems", have captivated us for centuries with their natural beauty and elegance. Discover the unique allure of different pearl types, each adding its own charm to fine jewelry.

AKOYA PEARLS:

Akoya pearls are saltwater cultured pearls grown in Japan, known for their round shape, high luster, and colors ranging from white to pink to golden hues. They are among the smallest pearls. The cultivation process involves inserting a pearl nucleus into the oyster, which takes 18 to 24 months to develop, making them one of the fastest-growing cultured pearls.

TAHITI PEARLS:

Tahiti pearls are cultured in French Polynesia, offering unique shapes and colors ranging from black to green, and even violet, often adorned with shades of pink, blue, and gold. Incorporated into contemporary designs, they require 2 to 3 years to reach full maturity due to a larger pearl nucleus in the oyster.

SOUTH SEA PEARLS:

South Sea pearls are cultured in Australia, Indonesia, and the Philippines, offering soft natural colors and generous sizes. Highly prized for their rarity and quality, they are often used in high-end jewelry. Their cultivation requires 2 to 4 years due to a longer formation time and the significant size of the oysters. South Sea pearls come in various shapes, including round, baroque, and drop, with the round shape being the most sought after.

FRESHWATER PEARLS:

Freshwater pearls are cultured in China, Europe, and the United States, offering an affordable and versatile choice in a variety of natural shapes and colors. They are appreciated for their unique forms and are used in modern creations. Their formation takes 2 to 6 years, producing multiple pearls per mold. They are an elegant and affordable alternative to saltwater pearls.
